Asteroid Miner

Billy:

I can see by the stars that I’ve traveled too far,

But nothing ever comes to those who sit and wait.

To collect my share of the universes wealth

I must take chances before it’s too late.

The sunlit rocks that float in the belt

Like diamonds, they glitter and dance.

Weightless they’ve sat for millions of years

Concealing their size in the distance.

Riding a dream in a singleship

Mining the asteroids

Taking my life one step at a time

The people out there expected so much.

I’m only one man, at last on my own.

The prospector’s life is now what I lead.

The conqueror’s dead, I’ll never go home.

At home on a planetoid, once in a month.

Counting the years as they pass me by.

Getting rich quick is taking so long.

But still I go out for one more try.

Mining the asteroids

Taking my life one step at a time
